Banana Nut Bread
   Marie Fitzpatrick 1 loaf
 
Ingredients:
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 c. mashed bananas
  • 2 Tbsp sour milk
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together, then in a separate bowl, cream the shortening and sugar, then add the egg. Add flour mix and bananas to this alternately. Add nuts last. Bake at 350 for 1 hour in a slightly greased pan. Bake less if making smaller loaves or muffins.
