Ingredients:
- 1 pound dried split peas
- 1/2 pound ham seasoning
- 1 good sized onion
- 2 toes garlic
- salt and pepper to taste
Rinse peas and place in pot. Cover peas with water, add ham seasoning,
and simmer.
Fry off onion and garlic until brown, then add to the pea soup. Use
some liquid from the soup to deglaze the frying pan.
Simmer from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours -- until peas are almost completely mushy.
